Dirty Throttle Body. A dirty throttle body can lead to stalling in your Ram. If you let off of the gas coming to a stoplight and it stalls for a second or two and recovers itself, it very well could be a dirty throttle body that is causing the problem. It even happens when I step on the brake for the first time and turn a corner after fill up. It only happens for a short time then it stops.

I was able to characterize the symptom then to a fairly quick letting off of the accell pedal. It didn't happen again until abount a week ago.

Every now and then when I am driving and take my foot off the gas to either slow down or stop my rpms will drop and then the engine stalls out. It always starts right back up, except for today. It will usually do this several times in a day and then not for a few days.

This guide can help, and I have left diagrams below on how to change the alternator out. Disconnect the battery first. Also, for the stalling at idle problem the IAC sounds like it is dirty or not working correctly. The location is in the diagrams as well. Check out the diagrams (below).

It's just characteristic drive line slack between the transmission & rear end gears. Most of the time you don't notice it, but you will get the clunk in certain sceinario's. The u-joints are pretty stout. My old '97 Dodge puts down 300 RWHP, and still had the original joints at 400k.

Agree with kitchen, my truck did the same thing, ran fine with a bit of gas then died when i let off. took it to a mech and they said the throttle body was dirty. Cleaned it out and runs fine since. Probably the same as cleaning the IAC sensor. its mounted in the throttle body.
