Just get the 6 over. You won't be happy with the 4's. 4 over seems like the sweet spot for me 6 is a bit tall unless you're just going for the extreme look. 4" will still give you the look you're after I think. Especially if you plan on lowering the rear it might be best to just raise the front moderately.

The rake makes it track much better at speed, and the low-speed is only dicey for about 3 hours of low speed. I've been getting into retro old school chopper. 1960s & 70s style. And one thing I've been having a hard time grasping this 4 over, 6 over, 8 over etc forks. What does that even mean? I'm guessing it means its 4, 6, 8 inches longer than stock forks. But idk. Maybe I'm over thinking it.. I really love the look of mildly extended forks.

Made a fork brace for my buddy’s Sportster sportster
8 over messes up all of the rest of the lines on the bike, assuming nothing else is changed. 4 or 6 over. I run 4 over forks on my sporty and 6 over on my shovel. Probably gonna change to 6 over on the sporty this winter. It will look much better once you start cutting off that stock shit.

1 17 comments Add a Comment BASE1530 • 6 mo. ago If you put 6 foot over forks on it's going to be really hard to ride. Jokes aside: You don't need to change the rake in your frame. I'd just delete the abs entirely if you're going to make such drastic changes to the bike's handling anyway.
